FBC Presents CMS CISO Cybersecurity Forum • CMS HQ • Baltimore, MD

About the Event:

Creating a culture of cyber security is critical for all organizations, including CMS. The internet is used to support many of our day-to-day activities and for many purposes. As technology improves, there is evidence that cyber-attacks are occurring more frequently and if they are successful, their impacts can be damaging. Knowing how to identify and prevent common cyber-attacks helps promotes a more secure internet environment for everyone.In support of National Cyber Security Awareness Month, the Information Security & Privacy Group (ISPG) is hosting the annual CISO Cyber Security Awareness Forum & Training Exercise.

Our goal during National Cyber Security Awareness month is to engage and educate CMS staff on protecting information technology systems and data from cyber-attacks and to promote clear and consistent communications about cyber security and privacy protections.

About CMS:

The Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) works in partnership with the entire health care community to improve quality and efficiency in an evolving health care system and provides leadership in the broader health care marketplace.   CMS covers 100 million people …through Medicare, Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program, and the Health Insurance Marketplace. To achieve a high quality health care system, they aim for better care at lower costs and improved health.

The Annual CMS Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) 2019 Cybersecurity Forum is hosted by the Information Security Privacy Group (ISPG) at CMS.

The Vision for ISPG is to provide leadership to CMS in managing information security and privacy risks appropriate for evolving cyber threats. The Mission is to enable the safe use of sensitive and privacy data while servicing the healthcare needs of the nation.

Requested Technologies

Companies that have products and services as they relate to cybersecurity, data privacy, securing the cloud and the ‘internet of things’ are appropriate to exhibit.
