Library of Congress Cyber Expo
The Library of Congress (LOC) will be hosting its annual cyber security awareness day during the month of October. The 2018 Cyber Exposition is an important part of employee continuing education, and the libraries outreach efforts to connect with the cyber and tech industries. The Library of Congress is the nation’s oldest federal cultural institution and serves as the research arm of Congress, and is the home of the United States Copyright Office. With 833 miles of shelving, the LOC is the largest library in the world, with millions of books, manuscripts, photographs, and other documents in its collections.
The Library’s mission is to support the Congress in fulfilling its constitutional research duties, host the Congressional Law Library, establish and promote innovation in the copyright office, and facilitate national and international outreach. Through these endeavors, the LOC furthers the progress of knowledge and creativity for the American people.
Why Exhibit? This is the only annual opportunity for industry to network with the LOC personnel in an environment that encourages collaboration.
How Many Personnel have attended in the past? 90-110 Personnel.
The exhibit space will be open to cyber and IT companies looking to showcase high caliber products to an exclusive federal audience. The expo attendees are centrally located within the 3 building LOC complex, and the internal host promotes this event to all departments.
What are the demographics? This event will attract the wide audience that manages the nation’s document collection and research arm for congress to include end users, program managers, CISO personnel, and technology officers from the LOC, Law Library, and the Copyright Office. The expo will be held in the Mumford Room on the 6th Floor of the main library, this excellent centralized venue is the optimal space for the employees of the LOC to network and interact with participating exhibitors.
Requested Technologies include Data Analytics Tools, Network Security, Big Data, Cloud Security, Cyber Security Training, and security for mobile devices.
