Erica Decker
Associate Director of Communications | GreyCon2025 – Capitol Technology University

Earlier this year, Capitol Technology University in Laurel, Maryland announced the launch of its inaugural professional conference, GreyCon 2025, scheduled for Friday, October 10, 2025. As a recognized thought leader in technology education since 1927, Capitol Tech established GreyCon to engage the broader STEM professional community and explore the emerging “grey areas” where major fields of technology intersect.

GreyCon 2025 will unite top leaders and innovators from across tech for a full day of compelling presentations centered around how technological innovations in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity are converging for a transformative future in space.

Distinguished guests for the event include keynote speaker The Honorable Charles F. Bolden Jr., Major General, USMC (Ret.), 12th NASA Administrator, and U.S. Astronaut. General Bolden is Founder and CEO Emeritus of The Charles F. Bolden Group, the leadership hub of Inter Astra™— the Global Community for the Business of Space™. His work helps build new leaders, expand access, and incorporate space innovation to solve real-world challenges. General Bolden will be participating in an insightful opening and closing panel joined by Che’ Bolden, CEO of The Charles F. Bolden Group, Renee Wynn, CEO of RP Wynn Consulting LLC and former NASA CIO, Dr. Diane M. Janosek, CEO of Janos LLC and former NSA Deputy Chief of Compliance, and Dr. Paul de Souza, Founder and President of Cyber Security Forum Initiative (CSFI).

According to Dr. Janosek, “GreyCon 2025 is where the future of technology takes shape—bringing together leaders in space, AI, and cybersecurity to explore the innovations transforming our world.”

Attendees will gain valuable and actionable insights to advance their roles in these rapidly evolving fields, discover intersections and emerging trends in niche sectors, and explore creative ways to implement best practices in their work. Dr. de Souza explains: “The innovators of tomorrow do not sit on the sidelines. They focus their attention on convergence. GreyCon 2025 is at the center of technological convergence!”

Dr. Janosek also points to the event as a valuable networking opportunity. “Don’t miss this unique opportunity to connect, collaborate, and lead at the cutting edge. I value the learning and networking experience of GreyCon and am so excited to be a part of Capitol Tech’s inaugural conference! Join us!”

Additional esteemed speakers and panelists who will be adding to the growing conversation around AI, cybersecurity, and space include Ambericent Cornett, Founder and CEO of ChameleCo® LLC, Dr. Amanda Fetch, Head of Applied Science at Data Squared, David Akinsanya, Founder of Inspium—and more.

Featured topics include secure autonomy in orbit, the fusion of AI and cybersecurity to build resilient space systems, and the evolving role of AI across various cyber domains. Experts will dive into pressing issues like cyber threats to satellites, the architecture of Starlink’s satellite constellation, and the integration of human factors in space-focused AI and cybersecurity solutions.

Additional sessions will cover key areas such as network security, trust management within cloud ecosystems, national security interests in space, and the application of machine learning for space situational awareness and geospatial intelligence (GEOINT). With a forward-thinking agenda, GreyCon 2025 will offer a fresh and thought-provoking perspective on the technologies defining our future.

Capitol Technology University is no newcomer to the world of professional conferences. For several consecutive years, the university proudly sponsored the Military Cyber Professionals Association’s (MCPA) Hammercon conference, which was founded by a Capitol Tech alumnus and a prominent figure in the cybersecurity community.

Capitol Tech is also recognized as an NSA National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense and leads the NCAE Northeast Regional Hub, uniting 110 institutions across 14 states and D.C. to advance cybersecurity education. Recently, the university hosted the first on-ground regional hub meeting, bringing together NCAE representatives, the NCAE Program Management Office (PMO), FBI, CISA, and NIST to strengthen collaboration, enhance cybersecurity education, and build industry partnerships.

Dedicated to launching the next generation of leaders and successful alumni, Capitol Tech offers flexible and immersive undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral STEM programs. Students gain real-world, hands-on experience from faculty and adjuncts who are active professionals in their fields—ensuring they are career-ready from day one.

Beyond the classroom, Capitol Tech actively forges partnerships with leading technology companies, government agencies, and professional organizations. These collaborations give students unparalleled access to learning opportunities in the STEM world and help make innovative events like GreyCon possible.

Dr. William Butler, VP of Cyber Science Outreach and Partnerships at Capitol Tech, provided his insights on what the university aims to achieve with GreyCon and why this is a “can’t miss” event. “GreyCon 2025 is about what comes next, shaping our future in space, AI, and cybersecurity. At Capitol Tech, we’re leading the next wave—designing resilient systems, pioneering breakthrough solutions, and ensuring a smarter, safer, more connected world.
