Mr. Echols is the author of the 2020 book Secure Cyber Life: The Government is Not Coming to Save You and is also the CEO of Max Cybersecurity LLC. He spent 11 years in critical infrastructure protection and cybersecurity leadership at the Department of Homeland Security and spent another 5 years as a consultant to DHS building national programs. Mike led several White House national security and risk management initiatives prior to 2017. Mike was Chairman of the Communications Sector, GCC. He was also the DFO for the President’s National Security Technical Advisory Committee (NSTAC). Mike Chaired the Network Security Information Exchange and served as the U.S. Representative to the NATO CCPC. Mr. Echols is a graduate of the NPLI – Harvard Kennedy School of Public Health. He holds several advanced degrees from the University of Maryland.
