Mr. William (Curt) Barker is senior advisor for strategic plans and implementation support to the NCCoE, where businesses, government agencies, and academia can collaborate to develop practical, interoperable, and secure approaches to address real-world cybersecurity challenges. He also advises on program planning and execution for other NIST initiatives, and previously served as Associate Director and Cybersecurity Advisor for ITL, directing NIST’s cybersecurity programs. Previously, he served as Acting Chief of NIST’s Information Access Division, the first head of Department of Commerce Office of Policy and Strategic Planning’s Cybersecurity and Privacy Coordination Office, and Chief of NIST’s Computer Security Division.
